from the earth by artist Margo McNulty was officially opened on Saturday 10th January, 3pm by Catherine Marshall.

from the earth presents new and recent works by Margo McNulty, an artist whose practice explores the relationship between memory, place, and materiality. Through painting, printmaking and photography, McNulty reflects on how personal and collective histories become embedded within objects and landscapes. Her work often draws upon Irish traditions and investigates hidden narratives that shape cultural identity.

Born on Achill Island, Co. Mayo, McNulty studied Fine Art at GMIT and completed her MFA at NCAD, Dublin. She currently lives and works in Co. Roscommon.

Over recent years, McNulty has exhibited widely with solo and group exhibitions across Ireland, Sweden, Poland, and the UK. She has participated in numerous Irish and international residencies, and her work is represented in major public and private collections nationwide.

McNulty was awarded the Jackie Clarke Residency in Ballina in 2021 and received the Markievicz Award in 2022. She subsequently completed her research and residency, leading to her exhibition “Voices” at Kilmainham Gaol Museum in 2023/2024. In 2025, she was awarded the Esker Arts Studio Residency. During the past decade she has collaborated with Red Fox Press to produce a number of artist’s books documenting her practice with essays by Catherine Marshall, Luke Gibbons and Sue Rainsford.
